Happy Holidays From The Reconnection!

Happy Holidays! We hope this message finds you well and enjoying a wonderful holiday season with friends and family. It's been a wonderful year of bringing forth the light and information of this work to the world and we thank you for being a part of it.

Year in Review - 2004

We've just returned from giving some exciting seminars in Sydney and are happy to be home after a fantastic year. We're very happy with all that's been accomplished and are thankful for the huge part that you play in how this work is shared with the world. It's just one year since we took the seminars in-house, and what a difference a year makes!
- We toured the world, introducing this work to over 8,000 new people, of which another 3,000+ have become practitioners.
- We brought this work for the first time to England, Germany and to Ireland.
- We now have practitioners in approximately 40+ countries and on at least 6 continents.
- We toured extensively throughout the North America and returned to extend the message further throughout Europe and Australia.
- Eric spoke and brought our work for the first time to the American Holistic Medical Association and the Edgar Cayce Foundation/ARE.
- Eric also presented our work to thousands alongside such greats as Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Caroline Myss and Gregg Braden, again, both in the US and abroad.
- Our book is now being published in its 10th language, and it is in its10th printing in the U.S.! The languages include English, French, German, Hebrew, Danish, Norwegian, Czechoslovakian, Polish, Turkish and Russian. Now, let's see what we can do about Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Greek, Arabic…and others!
- By bringing the planning and practitioner services in-house, we've improved the way we're bringing the work to you. We're also making great strides in providing service in many areas of practice support, with more on the way in 2005!

 Reconnecting to the Gridlines …

And, of course, one of our brightest highlights has to have been our 3rd Annual Mastery and Practice Development conference in Sedona. This year's event was set against the spectacular red rocks of Sedona and was headlined by an outstanding array of world-renowned speakers and authors including Lee Carroll, John Demartini, Richard Gerber, Gary Schwartz, Danny Drubin, Linda Powers and our own Pat Atanas and Eric Pearl. The program ranged from universal laws of healing to practice management, and a diverse selection of unique breakout sessions, including our special segment on working with animals which included bringing a gamut of members of the animal world into the open area of the hotel property, from horses to dogs to exotic birds to lambs. If we'd have had any more, they'd have built an ark. We enjoyed a brilliant night of entertainment under the stars, with a comedienne Linda Diaz and Broadway standout (& practitioner!) Sean McDermott delivering a uniquely powerful performance. It was an incredible time of learning, personal growth and, of course, fun! If you missed the event, we have CD's of the main speakers and breakout sessions for sale in our store. Plus, for a short time, we are offering the full 13 session CD set for $175. We truly hope that you will be able to join us next year, as we are planning an even better event!

Save the date! Next year's event will be Sept. 26 - Oct 2, and great news, we're returning to the amazing Sedona Hilton for the event!
Register early as the space is Sedona limits us to the first approximately 350 of you who register. See you there!

2005

We're already busily planning for an exciting 2005. View the full schedule on our website now! A brief glance let's you know that we're bringing the work that is ours even further in many ways and in many new locations. Next year will find us in many new places including, for the first time, Turkey, Poland, Israel, Czechoslovakia and Hawaii.

Plus, we're continuing to expand the work further with seminars throughout North America, Australia and Europe. Our new schedule kicks off with Eric speaking at the International Parker Chiropractic Seminar/Conference in Las Vegas in January. Shortly after that, we have our first weekend seminar in San Francisco. Along the way, we hope to see you at our Essence presentations, where once again you and your guests will be able to join us as our guests!

Other highlights of the year include the already mentioned 4th Annual Mastery & Practice Development Conference in Sedona and the introduction of some new courses. You may have already noticed that we're holding our first ever Level V course in LA at the end of 2005. This course is part of a teaching development program with the long-term goal of providing selected individuals with the skills and certification to teach The Reconnection/Level III material to small groups. Simultaneously, Level IV is being revamped with a lot more emphasis on how to teach. We are also planning to introduce one of several Practice Management courses next spring. That course will focus on helping you better own the work and build, establish and develop your practice. More on both of these courses will be announced in the New Year, but we thought we sneak preview them a bit here and now with Pat Atanas. Enjoy!

Practice Development - Pat Atanas

Many of you have expressed the desire to start or develop your practice to bring Reconnective Healing to others, yet haven't done anything to begin that reality. If you have not yet made your plan of exactly how to do that, there's no time like the “present” to set your goals and put them into action.
Start your plan of action by setting your professional goals into a structured quarterly basis. In other words - determine what you want to achieve and CAN achieve regarding your practice goals within this time frame.

For Example:

First quarter -
Create your practice environment -
Establish an office policy, purchase a massage table, be grounded in your services and fees.

Second quarter
Create your professional space - whether it be a home space or outside environment, determine location and how you want to appropriately set it up.

Third Quarter
Marketing - throughout the year, plan a budget for materials to help get the word out about your services. Your plan should include acquiring maximum exposure using ads, brochures and various educational opportunities. Make sure your budget includes opportunities to develop your own abilities through additional Reconnection seminars and offerings for growth.

Fourth Quarter
Analyze and review where you are and where you need to be to take your next steps. By this time you should be on your way toward making your vision a reality. Now is the time to determine action to take it further.

It's all about planning - a wise person once told me - if you are failing to plan, you could be planning to fail. For all those who I have met recently and have expressed their passion to bring this work forward - respond with your purpose, plan your vision - create your reality. Planning creates action with an end result of achievement.

Children Make the World - A Special Message From Eric Pearl

During the seminars, the question often arises as how to do Reconnective Healing on children. Generally this occurs during an introduction evening where timing allows only the simplest yet most obvious response: smaller. As I observed myself working with two children the other day in Australia, I felt I'd like to share with you a response that's just a little more in-depth: adapt. Actually, I believe the expression is “adapt or die.” This expression doesn't so much directly have to do with children as it does with life in general...although there are many parents of young children who would swear that this expression was directly spoken with them in mind.

First things first, get a release signed (you know, that paper the doctor usually has a parent or guardian sign that says they give permission for the doctor or you or whoever to work with their minor child or ward? It's available through most medical supply companies...or ask your doctor how to get them. And, although we're not giving legal advice as laws vary from city, to county, to state to country, it's always a good idea look into the rules in your area and to be covered...).

Children are everywhere all at once - physically, mentally, emotionally, etc. And, as a practitioner working with them, you must be, too...at least in your awareness. The first thing in dealing with anyone coming to see you is keeping them at “ease” as much as possible. For a child, this usually means keeping them in the physical and conscious presence of their parents, as well as keeping their parents in the view of the child. Literally. It may sound silly, yet, as important as it is for the parent to see the child, it's important for the sake of the child's comfort to see that the parent is with them the entire time. This may mean allowing one or both parents to sit on the massage table with you reading stories from the child's favorite book. If the child's a bit gregarious, it may make more sense for the three of you to sit on top of a king-size bed with pillows and other “blockades” retaining the child smaller, safer (from falling off the bed) area. The floor also has it's points (nowhere to fall, for instance).

Some children don't like to see hands held near them. Allow interactive nursery rhymes with their parents such as “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “The Inky Dinky Spider” to occupy the child's thoughts while you subtly work behind the youngster so as not to attract his or her attention. Parents usually know the games or coloring books that work best to keep their little ones occupied. Videos and television would be a last resort as TV is said to alter our brain waves and, therefore, our state.

I find working near the soles of children's feet to be a powerful and all-over generally effective area as well as working behind the head and spine. Remember, this is one area where paying attention to what you feel can really be your clearest guide as often with active children, you can forget about a lot of visual registers unless they happen to calm down.

Remember that time is an illusion and that the time you may take with an adult may well have to do with that person's “expectations” of how long a session needs to be for them to accept a healing. Most children don't have these expectations which is good as there'll be many who simply won't have the attention span to last 30 minutes or longer. Recognize when the session is over and let the child (and parent) know just how well they did for the time they were able to be present.

Remember, too, to keep yourself in a state of calm and “ease.” If you know you have a hyperactive child coming to visit, think ahead. Create an area that's free of breakables as well as small objects that children might like to place in their mouths (and potentially swallow) and, of course, exposed electrical outlets, among various other things that you can find in books or on the internet under subjects such as “childproofing your home” or various similar topics. This allows you to relax in a comfort zone that's truly comfortable for all of you. Get ready to spend time on the floor, to relax, to play, to explore, to discover and to see your office, your coffee table, and just plain life, through another set of eyes. You'll be amazed at the difference that will make for the entire experience for everyone.
